    The Drowning Prevention Evidence and Evaluation Project (DEEP) team invites you to attend the next Western Australian Drowning Evaluation and Research Network (WADER-N) Roundtable event.

2020 ROUNDTABLE SPEAKERS

Dr. David Meddings, World Health Organization (MD, MHSc, FRCP(C))
David currently works for the World Health Organization as a Medical Officer where he coordinates the department’s work in child injury prevention, burns, drowning and falls prevention. He is also responsible for the coordination of capacity building and policy development.
 
Dr. Colleen Saunders, University of Cape Town (BSc(MED)Hons, PhD)
Colleen currently works at the University of Cape Town as a Research Manager within the Division of Emergency Medicine. She has contributed to a broad range of research areas, including, injury prevention. Her contributions to drowning research include: retrospective studies on fatal drowning, childhood drowning vulnerability, the development of strategic frameworks and various other publications on injury prevention.
 
Ms. Lauren Nimmo, Royal Life Saving Society WA (BSc)
Lauren is the Senior Manager of Health Promotion and Research at Royal Life Saving Society WA. Lauren is responsible for the development and delivery of a wide range of health promotion interventions targeting issues such as alcohol, toddler drowning prevention and creating safe spaces for recreation. Lauren works closely with tertiary and research institutions to undertake research and evaluation programs to improve understanding of the emerging field of drowning prevention.
